City Council
Beaver Falls has been a Third Class City until the city residents voted to adopt Home Rule in the November 2021 election. The Home Rule Charter, drafted by an elected commission of city residents, went into effect on January 3, 2022.
The Beaver Falls Home Rule Charter maintains the commission form of government; the mayor and four other members constitute the commission and serve as the governing body of the city. The City Manager oversees day to day operations and oversight of the city’s main departments: Administration, Department of Finance & Taxation, Department of Public Works, Fire Department, Police Department, and Community Development.
